A cost-effective pre-terminated cabling system based on standard networking products. This system allows fibre optic networks to be installed much faster than conventional on-site termination methods. Requiring no special skills or equipment meaning specialist engineers are not required for installation, significantly reducing costs.
The system uses internal/external grade, OM3, tight buffered cable supplied in specific lengths with either 4 or 8 fibre cores. Each cable is factory prepared with a gland on each end, epoxy bonded to the Kevlar Strain Relief Yarn and fully tested and certified to ensure quality before shipping.
A specially developed termination protection sleeve is fitted to each end of the cable assembly to protect connectors during shipping and installation. This sleeve is small, flexible, lightweight, and rugged, connecting to the epoxy bonded cable gland and withstanding high tensile loads when pulling cables through ducts. A pulling eye allows attachment of a draw cable.
After installation, the protection sleeves are removed, and connectors are threaded through the gland hole of any cable management enclosure. A gland nut secures the cable gland in place, and connectors are connected to adaptors inside the enclosure to complete the installation.
